Feryaz Ocakli is an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at Skidmore College. Feryaz teaches and conducts research on comparative politics and the Middle East. He specializes in the study of Islamist and ethnic politics, democracy, and development, with a particular focus on Turkey. His recent publications examine how Islamist parties broaden their appeal, the politics of state-business relations in late neo-liberalism, and the relationship between oil and insurgency. He received his Ph.D. from Brown University.
